Nightscapes

Nightscape, Virginia, August, 2007.

I've always been interested in taking pictures at night. I'm not really sure why. Ever since I was in high school, when I began to do my own darkroom work. I enjoyed taking long exposures and then seeing what my experiments had brought. It's still fun, because I have a better idea of what things will look like, but you still don't always know exactly what you'll get and that's part of the fun.

I like the camera's ability to see into the darkness and the way the different colored streetlights create interesting pools of light and reflections. I also like the feeling of isolation and decay that accompanies these photos, because I'm in an urban area, or on some old bridge, or factory. Rochester was great. I did a lot of night photography and I even did some 8x10 night shots.

Here is my walk across the Queensboro Bridge last year:

I like the first one, "Nightscape," Virginia, August 2007. It reminds me of Clark and the Flash streaking down the hiways on "Smallville."

I'm taking an e-mail break from "Smallville." Lana Lang died. Lex Luther was declared "innocent" and is out of jail. It was completely believable until Tom McBeath--Col Maybourne, from Stargate SG-1--delivered the news. Brain fart! Wrong show! The bubble burst!

Vancouver has about 79 actors. They mix and match them on all their shows. It destroys my stream of consciousness.

There was a time when I never questioned that I should "clap for Tinkerbell." It takes so much for me to suspend my disbelief these days. I will however clap for "Nightscapes." --Ann

Thanks Ann!

I can still suspend my disbelief pretty easily. Though there are times when yes, something really takes you out of the show.

Now that the Canadian Dollar is pretty much at par with the USD, maybe runaway production will come back to the good ole US of A.

I believe!
